WHERE TO EAT
There are some lovely traditional pubs and inns within easy driving distance of Fron Fawr, all being family friendly and most also welcoming pets in some, if not all, of their eating areas.
For more special occasions, there are bistros and restaurants a little further afield but well worth the journey for a holiday treat.

The Nags Head Inn – in Abercych, just 5 miles from the cottages at Fron Fawr and the best pub in North Pembrokeshire. A traditional family and pet friendly inn serving excellent pub food, cask and guest ales, many from local micro breweries. There is an outdoor enclosed play area for younger guests and a delightful beer garden overlooking the River Cych – perfect for outdoor family dining along with your four legged friend. Superb location overlooking Tresaith Beach.Parking can be difficult but it is worth it to visit this pub which has fantastic views over the bay. Dogs are very welcome in the bar area but as there are only a few tables in the bar area, please call in advance to book one of these tables. Coast – just a few miles from the seaside town of Saundersfoot. Their ethos is to source everything (where possible) locally from Pembrokeshire. Will Holland and his team prepare dishes with skill, experience, creativity and a good dollop of style. Brunch and lunch excellent for families, with dinner perhaps that little bit more special for an adult only treat. The Ferry Inn – in St.Dogmael’s (on the way to Poppit Sands). Wonderful location with views out over the river estuary. The Ferry has an outdoor terrace extending along the estuary, perfect for summer al fresco dining. Very pet friendly in all areas except the top level of the inside dining area.

The Sloop Inn – in Portgain, near St.David’s. Lunch and dinner available 7 days a week and as it is a coastal village, there is nearly always fresh fish on the menu and locally caught lobster, when in season. Extremely family friendly with tables outside overlooking a football green where children can play and run off steam whilst adults enjoy the seaside ambience.
